Gandhi’s - Carrying Forward the Legacy of Good Food and Fine Dining

Legacies are carried down generations. When passed through the right hands, a legacy nurtures and flourishes. Operational since 35 years, Gandhi’s is a heritage, where we continue to serve people with authentic Indian food offering simple flavours and fresh ingredients. Gandhi’s was the first Indian restaurant on Kennington Road, Lambeth, and we pride ourselves for hosting eminent celebrities, politicians, and local customers with the same fervour and dedication.

While we have managed to maintain the authentic flavours of the traditional Indian recipes, we also try to adapt the culinary delights as per the current food trends. Our customers say that we offer the best curries in town. Indeed we do!

Let me take you through a journey of the signature Indian cuisines that we cook and how we achieve the desired flavours. You could order online as we are the oldest and most reliable Indian takeaway in Lambeth, offering quality food services. Here are some of the best recipes developed by our expert chef Basith.

1. Vegetarian Balti

This is our offering to the vegetarian lovers where the freshest of vegetables are cooked in a delectable gravy made of freshly ground spices. The non-vegetarian balti version serves lamb, chicken, prawns, and more. You can specify your preference while placing orders. Enjoy this flavourful item with the bread of your choice. Our Balti method of cooking that involves cooking in a metal pot/handi which makes the dish flavourful and aromatic.

2. Signature Biryani

A signature dish at the Gandhis, we take painstaking effort to prepare the authentic-style Biryani using fresh ingredients. Spices and fresh herbs are carefully selected, ground, and cooked with rice and vegetables, lamb, chicken or prawns, as specified in the order. Customers love to indulge in our biryani and the hearty appreciation makes all the effort worth it. The biryani is served with a vegetable curry.

3. Gandhi special- menu for 2

This menu is designed for two people and includes a combination of starters and main dishes which are served with bread, rice and Kulfi for dessert. The starter platter contains an array of Gandhis specialities like Tandoori Murghi, Sheek Kebab, Chicken Tikka, and King Prawn, all of which are clay oven delicacies. The main dishes include Rogan Josh, Chingri Bhuna, and the Mixed Vegetable Curry.
